OCTOBER 23RD LINE UP/THANK YOU!

Massive thanks to everyone that came and talked and showed interest and signed up at Freshers Fayre. We had a really unexpected (and pretty exciting) amount of interest from everybody, which was ace! Nice one! Its all go from here....
Here's the line up for our first gig of the new term. October 23rd, Tommys Bar, 8pm till late, cheap entry, good music, bad dance moves....
IT CAME FROM EGHAM!
Weird and wonderful sounds dug from the depths of Royal Holloway.
Robert Logan
Unmissable avant electronica from a producer that has worked with Grace Jones and Brian Eno. Expect heavy low end bass rumble, swirling pools of ambience, layers of twisted effects and scattered drum beat explosions in a warped blend of drum and bass, dubstep and abstract electronics. All at once crushing, abrasive, beautiful, uplifting and colourful. Perfect for fans of Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Boards Of Canada, Steve Reich, Kraftwerk, Burial or Pinch and rated by Q Magazine, DJ Mag and Wire. Dont miss this!
Handshake
RHUL's favourite band. Winners of too many battles of the bands, curators of the open mic night where the Love To Make Noise crew first met and stormers of last years summer ball return to play for us because their good time folk makes us dance and smile and dance even more. Imagine some smoke filled tavern at midnight where the guiness and whiskey run free from the taps and the gents and the dames dance hand in hand on creaking floorboards under low wooden beams in a whirl of accordion, violin, banjo, harmonica, bass and guitars. Influenced by Dylan, Bragg, Levellers, late nights, old tales and many merry jigs. http://www.myspace.com/handshakemusicuk
The Python Lost
Resident Holloway art punks make a presice mess with angular riffs, driving bass, sharp jolts of synth and soaring vocals. Mathematical disco for pulling awkward shapes to, like Battles, Foals, Gang Of Four or ESG. A little experimental, a little pop, a little noisy. Just right!http://www.myspace.com/pythonlost
Mucky Little Paw Prints
Lofi twee pop made by upstarts that should know better. They emerged from Block C of Wedderburn last year clutching nothing but a penny whistle, half a drum kit and a record collection consisting of nothing but Jeffrey Lewis, Feist, Joanna Newsome and The Beatles and made sweet springtime sea shanty songs at our first gig. They return, ready to shake glittering notes, boy/girl harmonies and perfect three minute pop songs into the air. http://www.myspace.com/muckylittlepawprints
Sevgi Umur (DJ)
A lady with most impeccable taste. Expect a feast of electro/house/indie from all your favourites - Presets, Soulwax, Daft Punk, Digitalism, Justice, Black Ghosts, Chromeo, Metronomy, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Kissy Sell Out, MIA, Count and Sinden etc etc... You know the score!
Holy Spinach VS Dandy Highwayman (DJs)
Love To Make Noise residents keepin' it tight at the controls of the wheels of steel. Watch your backs! Just for kicks and cheap thrills - northern soul, 60's garage punk, motown, electronica, krautrock, psych, disco, art rock, 80s pop, old school hip hop, charity shop classics and anything they can get their hands on. Loose hips a requirement. Haters need not apply!
